Hi there! My name is George Papadakis and I am a graduate of ORNERAKIS school of arts. I am currently employed there teaching illustration. In 2004 I was awarded the first prize in the annual comics contest, held by magazine “9” of ELEFTHEROTYPIA newspaper, and the same year I worked as a cartoonist in “MITOS” newspaper. I have also cooperated with “VIMA”, “TA MESA” and “KIRYKAS” newspapers. I have covered iconographically the trial of the terrorist organisation “17th November” , on behalf of ANTENNA channel. I have been a collaborator of various advertising companies such as MODUS VIVENDI, ΕΥ ΖEIΝ, ASSET OGILVY, ASHLEY and others, participating at events and promotions as a portraitist, or creating storyboards and various artwork. In 2006 I illustrated the book “Pistache” by the famous english writer Sebastian Faulks, which was published in England and worldwide by “RANDOM HOUSE”. I have also illustrated language educational books for publishing houses PIONEER PUBLISHING, BOULDOUMIS, PASCHALIDES , PEARSON και GRIVAS BOOKS. I have illustrated articles for the magazines “CRIME AND SECURITY”, «ΑΕΚ EMPIRE», «EΚΟ» (of “KATHIMERINI” newspaper). I participated in the creation of the CD-ROM “With Xenios in Greece” as an animator. I have studied 3D animation in ΑΚΤΟ school of arts and in particular the 3dStudio Max program. I have created 3d graphics for medical documentaries about viruses, as well as in a production of the “MEIZONOS ELLINISMOY INSTITUTE”, regarding the Acropolis of Athens. Creating animation for web pages is another field of interest: my work appeared in an online game created for the website of “FAGE” dairy company. Finally, I am also a graduate of the Department of Communication and Media Studies, University of Athens.
